There are many options today when it comes to choosing an information management platform for your company. A switch between platforms is often considered as an expensive and complex process. There are several reasons to why companies decides to keep their old platform for years. But when the service for the required software no longer exists or is outdated, you simply need to upgrade.

HIFAB is one of Sweden’s leading project management companies and today they’re using Lotus Notes as their database and SharePoint 2010 as their platform. Lotus Notes is an old database application and SharePoint isn’t the latest release, which makes them want to upgrade. They would also like forms to be constructed to simplify the hiring process within the company.

In this thesis, a new SharePoint 2013 site was constructed. On the SharePoint site, there are some lists and libraries for the forms that have been designed to facilitate new employments. In the libraries, there are columns showing data from a completed form that allows sorting and searching of a particular employee very smooth. All data generated in this thesis is saved directly in SharePoint.
